More, as promised, now that I found Applebee's

Never underestimate how happy finding an Applebee's in the middle of Kansas can make you. With that being said, here's more Havasupai:

I don't remember where I left off, so this will just be a picture dump. And, me saying how much I wish I could go back, but secretly grateful it won't be for a while [I'm tired].

When I finally get to a computer, I'll upload the video of me freaking out going down those ladders and chains in the rain of the falls. :)

Until then - San Fransisco and Denver dump post next! :)

Havasupai - Part One

This isn't something I can share in just one most,, so here's part one:

The hike down the switchbacks at 4 in the morning was scary, I definitely fell on my face, and it hurt - the hike, not falling. Then the other 6 miles through the scorching desert made me want to die.

These are switchbacks. And yes - did those in the fricken dark.

Anyhow.. I got to the campgrounds after 6 miles of hot desert and 2 miles of the hardest thing to walk through - sand.

Right before the campsite was this fucking beauty:
So beautiful!

More later, gotta drive 5 hours to see Salvation Mountain :)

Driving and driving and Max!

I finally made it to Arizona today. After so many hours driving. So many hours. Here, I met up with my friend Max, who let me stay with him for the night. Finally, some air conditioning again!

Not much else to report, Havasupai for the next 4 days, so I won't be posting again until Tuesday. Wish me luck!

No-Orleans, Yasss-Texas

Yesterday, I tried to go to Canal to have a beer in New Orleans, as anyone would do. I scored the beer, but on the way there and back to my car, I was cat-called and followed the entire way. Needless to say, I didn't stick around to see where that would 3nd. Instead, I headed to Texas.

I just have to say, Texas is the biggest goshdamn state I've ever encountered driving. My Lord, I just kept driving and driving and driving.

But, when I finally stopped, I was rewarded. My Texas stop was Hamilton Pool Reserve.

It was beautiful. This picture, no matter how pretty, doesn't give it justice.

After the reserve, I got lost in Texas because the signal for my GPS was lost. I ended up in Mexico, or at least, Mexico-adjacent. It was scary and I couldn't figure out where I was so I just kept driving. Eventually, I found where I was on my map and found my way back to cell reception for my GPS.

I'm in New Mexico now, heading to Arizona tomorrow to see Max and mentally prepare for Havasupai Friday night. :)

Here are some more pictures from today:

Until tomorrow :)

Goodbye, Disney. I loved you.

I do not have the ability to put these last two days into actual words. I came to Disney, thinking this trip would be amazing. I was right, but I was barely skimming the top of how incredible it would turn out to be. I spent yesterday hitting All of the parks, hoping to get everything in that I could. I got help from two people I met at my hotel that were avid Disney-goers. Sarah and Ed told me to get the best out of Disney, I'd have to to through the parks as such: Animal Kingdom [ride Pandora first], view the Safari at Kilimanjaro, take a bus over to Hollywood Studios to hang out with Star Wars, jump over to Epcot [Belle is in France here], then monorail to Magic Kingdom.

I took their advice and saw all four parks in less than 12 hours, met Ariel, Peter Pan, Belle, Fairy Godmother, saw a Parade with a dozen Disney characters, and met so many awesome people along the way. I even guided a family from Spain from Epcot to Magic Kingdom, as the child was the only one who spoke English and said I looked Friendly and Knowledgeable about the parks. She was awesome and adorable.

At Magic Kingdom, I stood in line for the Seven Dwarfs mine ride with a family from Akron, Ohio! How amazing was that? They live so close to me! The daughter had just turned 16 and was gifted Disney. She asked me where my parents were, bless her, and I had to admit my age 😱

I had to see Ariel again today. She was wonderful and called me a mermaid. Ariel and Peter Pan have been my favorite characters, though Fairy Godmother was a close third. Belle was awesome, too.

I am incredibly thankful for these two days and this experience. At the top of My bucket list, Disney can now be checked off :)

Anyways, less words, more pictures:

Day Three.. Disney

Let me tell you a secret.. Driving is tiring.
But when the destination is DISNEY WORLD, you don't care.

As soon as I got there.. Off came my clothes and BOOM. I was poolside with some booze.

I met a couple at the bar named Ed and...yeah, Sarah. How awesome is that?

They told me all of the cool ins and outs of Disney, as they'd been here many a times. Tonight, we're going to Disney Springs to drink and be merry.

For now, though.. I'm eating and napping in my Little Mermaid suite.

Like an adult.

More tomorrow! See y'all soon!

Am I Afraid of Heights?!

Today I left Lebanon and headed out of Tennessee. Before I could leave, however, there were several road signs that were screaming RUBY FALLS at me. Obviously, I had to see what all the excitement was about.

$40 later, I was 1250ft inside of a mountain looking at this:

It was amazing. A crickety elevator ride down to the bottom of a mountain where this beautiful wonder was. From there, I went up top for another waterfall, feeling so much vertigo I thought I'd fall down the mountain and never make it to Havasupai :P

This one was just as beautiful. This time, at the top of this mountain, a small pool sitting beneath it, and then a Drop hundreds of feet down to level ground. So many beautiful waterfalls, so little time..

Once I left Ruby Falls and the overlook, I headed for Florida, to Disney. My phone went berserk midway through and wouldn't work. I got lost halfway through Georgia until I found a town with a Verizon store in it, thank the Gods. A nice gentleman literally pressed a button to fix it. The same button I'd pushed 10000000 times as I was getting myself lost. Cute.

Well, off to Disney tomorrow! Get psyched for tons of character pictures and pictures of lovely, delicious food. :)
