It has been a minute!! So (so!) sorry for not adding more to this in the last two years. There was a pandemic! And not much else going on road-wise. But wait no more! I have been converting my new (old) Town and Country Chrysler minivan to travel and, one day, live in! His name is Gus the Bus, because we dream big here, don't we?
I started with a makeshift floor just to make the bottom of the van one height. It originally had a four-to-six inch difference from the back to the front. However, once I got that balanced out, I insulated, put down runners to screw into, and laid down a laminate floor that looks like wood.
From there, that's right - I built a bed! It took me two tries, I had to purchase another power driver, and there are a few nails sticking out further than they need to, but it's perfect. I acquired a 6-in foam mattress and the bed is complete!
I am leaving the counter/desk space for after my first test run, which is tomorrow! I am driving from Ohio to Texas, to New Mexico, to Arizona, and then hopefully Zion in Utah!
